Transition Monaghan members converged on Síolta Chroí outside Carrickmacross to see how the regenerative farm is progressing. We were blessed with a cool dry day to take the tour and chat to the owners, Karen and Gareth (also Transition Monaghan members).

Permaculture Course: June 2014
The beautiful Ballybay Wetlands Centre provided a very suitable location for a weekend of discussions and workshops on living sustainably. The sun shone on the drumlins surrounding the Dromore River, and the birds gently tweeted as Marella Fyffe, from Omagh Co. Tyrone, led Transition Monaghan’s weekend workshop on Sustainable Living Skills / Permaculture.

Ballinode Community Allotments
In partnership with Ballinode Tidy Towns and Monaghan Allotment Society, Transition Monaghan applied to Monaghan County Council for permission to use the greenfield site at Cappog, Ballinode for the purpose of developing community allotments and a community garden for the people of Ballinode. Over the Autumn and Winter months we will begin preparing the site so that we residents and community groups in Ballinode can being growing in Spring 2014.
