Cloughjordan Eco Village is Ireland’s first and only eco village. Situated in Cloughjordan, Co. Tipperary, The Village is home to over 50 families, a number of businesses, an eco hostel, allotments, a district heating scheme and a community farm. 

Community is a major theme of life in the village, with regular community events and weekly meals. The new residents and the locals have integrated well and the presence of the eco village has brought new jobs and life to Cloughjordan, insulating it from the worst of the economic downturn.

The Eco Village, and other organisations, including Cultivate, run regular events in Cloughjordan, from organic growing courses, to the annual Permaculture Certificate course to the more light hearted Cloughtoberfest!
